"Nori leads some sad X-Men. They kill people sometimes. They also smoke a lot of pot and have sex and then cry about it later."

When Kevin hurt Laurie, his whole world came crashing down. He decided he was far too dangerous, and he couldn't be around people anymore. A few hours after he touched her, Kevin ran away, not even bothering to take anything with him this time. He just needed to get away so he wouldn't hurt anyone he loved ever again.

After branching out on his own, Kevin began working near a dump again. He was allowed to collect things for his sculptures, and in return he helped with sorting garbage. He distanced himself from people, and decided that he wasn't going to even have friends anymore. Kevin had come to the theory that he was a murderous monster who deserved to die because he brought nothing but destruction to anyone he cared for. He lived out a lot of loathing and self pity until his old teammates came to get him. After some convincing, he decided to go with them.

Kevin does what he needs to do on the team, and he's not afraid to take a life when he needs to. However, he tries to make that a last resort, because if he gives into that hunger, then it's very hard to come back from it.

Being on Nori's team helps him learn control of his powers, and keeps him alive. If he hadn't joined it, he likely would have ended up taking his life.

Personality/Powers:

Kevin still can't fully control his powers. He still has to fight his hunger to use them, and he still has to be covered up. He is able to wither only small aspects of things he touches, but he cannot fully tough organic things without destroying them in some small way. It's something he is constantly working on. He's accepted that his powers are destructive and harmful.

He is openly bisexual, though doesn't seek out romantic relationships due to the trouble with his powers. He doesn't want to hurt anyone, and it's for the best if he's just miserable while everyone else gets to be happy. He's still quite moody and dramatic. His hobbies include whining, complaining, being sad and being grumpy. He's still gothing it up and wearing his dramatic jackets.

Kevin is an artist for many different mediums, but his favourites are sketching and sculpture.

Character Name: Kevin Ford || Wither

Personality: Kevin Ford is a very complex boy. He has a power that inflicts him with a sort of hunger to use, and though he was very against it for the first little while of having these abilities, Selene taught him to not only accept himself, but that his gift of death was something to not only be treasured, but to be used whenever he felt it right. After learning to accept his powers, his personality became a lot darker, and he had absolutely no problem with killing people (he even killed one of his former classmates, Onyxx). He uses his powers without hesitation, and enjoys doing so.

Kevin is a loner by nature. He keeps quiet and to himself unless he feels the need to speak up, and he's very good at disappearing if he wants to. Ever since the death of his father, he's been very self reliant, and has never had much trouble with learning to live alone. He works well without friends, and whenever he wants to feel better, he'll work on his art, or just run off. When Kevin is faced with his worst fears, he tends to run away to hide from his problems. Sometimes, what he's capable of has the tendency to actually scare him.

He can be rather obsessive when he wants to be. Whether it's over Laurie, or considering his hatred towards Josh, Kevin sticks with it. If there's something he really wants, he will do everything in his absolute power to get what he desires, and he will not hold back. He had a habit of watching Laurie quietly from afar, obsessing from a safe distance, and sometimes watching her interact with Josh in absolute anger. His obsessive nature can often cloud his judgement, or even his perception of others (he was so into Laurie, it took him forever to realise how Cessily felt for him). With his obsessions comes his loyalty, and he's extremely very loyal to those he cares for. He wanted to do absolutely anything he could for both Laurie and Selene whenever they needed it, but at the same time, when he discovered Laurie died, he was quick to blame Josh, and even tried to kill him for "letting" Laurie die. When Kevin was being accused of murdering his father, the Hellions (instead of the squad he was actually part of) went so far as to try and break him out of FBI custody, and bring him back to the mansion. He saw this as an act of compassion and friendship, and it actually caused him to switch squads, and to take on a new adviser.

Kevin has a pretty large temper when things extremely grate him, and he tends to lose control of his emotions and lash out without thinking. He doesn't tend to look before he leaps, and often suffers consequences for it. Though he's a loner, he has no problem with being a little smug, and trying to put people in their place when he thinks lowly of them. When people upset him, he will fall into dramatics, and possibly say things he doesn't mean (IE: Telling Dani he hates her because she made him go with the FBI). He can be very manipulative if he thinks it will work in his favour, and very hostile as well. Kevin Ford is not a person with many friends, and only a small number of people actually have a place in his heart.

Though his values and morals have slipped incredibly, he is still able to feel guilt for what he did to Laurie, as it's something that still haunts him from time to time. He loved her with all of his heart, so when he accidentally "withered" away most of her arm, he was not only incredibly devastated, but he actually ran away. During his time away from the mansion, he had constant nightmares about what he did, and even after he became Selene's lover, he would still drift off and think about what he did to Laurie. With all the bad things Kevin has done now, he considers what he did to Laurie the absolute worst.

History: HERE

Strengths:
-Kevin has a death touch. Whenever his bare skin comes in contact with organic matter, it cause them (people, plants, animals and materials) to shrivel up, become brittle, and turn to ash. If he only holds on for a short time, whatever he's touching won't turn to ash, but what's left won't be much of anything. Because of all the time he spent with Selene, he has a lot of training with his abilities, and he knows how to use them quite well. However, he still cannot control them to the point of making them shut off (much like Rogue).
-He's a tattletale. If things don't go his way, he will go out of his way to make sure that somehow, they at least work to his advantage somehow (IE: threatening to tell about Josh/Rahne if Josh didn't break up with Laurie) He can be very manipulative.
-He has good survival skills. Kevin was on the run for a long time, and was homeless during that period. Though only a kid, he was able to survive without needing any help.
-Kevin is FIERCELY loyal. When he loves someone, he will go to the end of the world and back for them, whether it's doing something to make them happy, or avenging them.
-He has a few artistic skills. While at the mansion, Kevin used to mold scrapped pieces of metal together, and make sculptures ~~while watching Laurie~~. Since metal is one of the few things he can actually touch, he finds himself rather attached to this hobby.

Weaknesses:
-Kevin cannot touch any organic materials without turning them into dust and ash. Because of that, he has to wear special gloves, and make sure none of his clothing is made of organic materials.
-Laurie Collins. Laurie is a huge sore spot for Kevin, and any mention of her sends him on a spiral of rage and anguish.
-Any of the other students from the institute. Because of Selene, Kevin has been manipulated into a malicious, hateful person, and seeing these people just drives him to hurt.
-His heart. Though he is loyal, when he loves someone, it's not only a strength, but a huge weakness. He'll let his emotions rule him. (He leaps before he looks)
-His abilities provide him with a constant hunger, and if he's not using them, he's absolutely aching to.

What are some of your plans for this character in their new environment? To generally be a dick, to threaten Josh, to scream Laurie's name into the darkest depths of the gutters and you know, alla that fun villainy! Also since we now have a Laurie, I'm guessing he'll watch her through windows and crap.

First Person Journal Sample:

[Kevin shows up on the screen, wearing his token black clothing and has a very dark look in his eyes. He's beyond anger right now.]

This isn't right. She made me into something else, something better, and now it's all gone. I'm just a mutant again, and that's not going to work for me. Foley, whatever you did to me, you're going to pay. You think you could actually keep me dead? Well, you're not as great as you think you are! You're a failure, you're pathetic and you're no hero.

First you let Laurie die, and then you took away the only few things that were good in my life. Remember what I said to you on Genosha? Well, it's all true. I don't care where I am, I'll do it. I'll do it all, and it will be your own fault because YOU LET HER DIE! YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO PROTECT HER, BUT YOU LET LAURIE DIE!

[His expression strangely softens, and he barely smiles.]

My queen, if you are here, please give me notice. I yearn to serve you; I'll fix the mess Bard got you into, and I'll make it better for you. You'll be a goddess yet.

Third Person Sample:

It felt like forever since he'd been to New York, and despite being in a new world, it felt like nothing had changed. It was filled with those same people, and those same dismal surroundings. Kevin tended to view everything in a rather dreary way, seeing the world painted in something of a gray scale. He walked by the happy people, the people in love, and all he saw was them turn to dust. The couples kissing, the parents who loved their children, all they were doing were standing and waiting around. They didn't appreciate the freedoms they had, and it wouldn't be long until they withered away into nothing. Dust, ash, and gone. It was almost hard to ignore, this hunger he had to reach out and touch someone.

Kevin felt different, being here. He wasn't what Selene made him, not physically anyways. His vampiric abilities were completely gone, which he had to know was due to whatever Josh had done to him during their fight. Not only had Josh gotten Laurie killed, but he'd taken away everything else that Kevin had built up in his new life, making the hatred he had for his former teammate so much stronger. He was no longer immortal, and he didn't have the wonderful support of his beautiful queen. He would have to seek out the rest of the inner circle, had Josh doomed them to this world as well.

He walked along, silent and keeping to himself as his thoughts raged within. The men and women who had tried to touch him had died the second they laid their hands on him, but he didn't care about them. Right now he was only concerned with where he was going to stay while he planned on killing Josh. Selene always liked to find a beautiful home, kill whoever owned it and make it her own, so that was what Kevin would do. He would find a beautiful place where his queen could come and stay when she showed up, and the inner circle could find solace in it as well. Thinking about this was actually making him smile, and while he looked around, he continued to see the people disintegrate and turn to ash right before his eyes; he knew it wasn't actually happening, but these visions were something he saw constantly these days. Oh, they'd all feel his hands around them when the time came, but for now he had his own goals, and his queen to please.

He was going to kill Josh, and then Cessily, and then anyone else Josh ever cared about. Since Josh took everything from Kevin, he would do the same right back. It was almost merciful to kill him first and not make him suffer, but Kevin couldn't stand him alive for that long. No, Josh needed to die.

After all, he'd let Laurie do so.

History: Kevin's mother died in childbirth, so he grew up in Atlanta, raised only by his father, and without any siblings. Before his powers appeared, he was a very introverted kid, and while most of his classmates were off dating, making friends and socializing, he was gathering art materials, and winning contests for his work. Along with sculptures, he loved to draw and paint, and focused on them rather than making many friends. He had a very good relationship with his father, and often spent time with him if he wasn't working on his art.

When his powers surfaced at the age of fifteen, he withered off all his clothing, and his father made the mistake of touching him as he tried to console him, unaware what exactly Kevin's body was doing. Kevin ended up hugging onto his dad for too long, and Kevin's powers accidentally killed him. Fairly traumatized by it, Kevin stayed inside the house beside the pile of dust, despite wanting nothing more to run away from the horrible thing he'd done. When he was found and recruited by the institute, he was wearing a curtain, as it was the only thing he could touch without withering it. When he was brought to the school, he was given clothing that wouldn't be rejected by his skin.

When he settled into the school a little more, he kept to himself, mostly because he felt overwhelmingly guilty over what he did. Scared to hurt someone again, he made no effort to try and make friends. His days tended to consist of going to class, working on sculptures and sitting in his room, listening to music. It was a very hard change for him, and it was something that he was still adjusting to. For now, all he thought was that everyone would be better off without being around him, and just wanted to be there so he could learn control over his powers.

Not being able to touch other people without killing them tends to get to him, as he's terrified he'll have another accident and someone else who he loves and cares for will die at his hands. He tries not to use his powers if he can help it, because he really doesn't want to hurt anyone. For someone who portrays something of a mean personality, he has a big heart, and he can't bear the idea of killing again.

Kevin is not timid, and if he wants something, he will keep trying and trying to get it. He can be very focused and determined if he wants to be, but completely opposite if he doesn't care. Sometimes this determination and focus can cloud his judgement, or make him completely miss other details that are staring him straight in the face. Along with those two qualities, he is also extremely loyal to anyone he cares for, and would do anything to make them happy no matter what. Loyalty will go a long way for him in return, as seeing someone actually putting their neck out there for him is something he does not forget.

Outlook: Kevin has a very dark and dim outlook on life, due to his powers. He doesn't have much hope for a good quality of life for himself, and he's much more a pessimist than anything else. Since his powers give him something of a "decay vision", he will sometimes use this ability to view the world how it would look like if it were constantly decaying. He thinks most people are going to hate him or be afraid of him, so he has a lot of walls built up. The longer he has his powers with no control, the more miserable and irritable he seems to act. He is constantly in a mindset where he views himself as being "cursed" and "unlucky". Nothing ever goes right for him.

Limitations: Kevin cannot touch anything organic at all without turning it to dust, so he's required to not only wear specific clothing from head to toe, but to wear gloves as well. Kevin is not a social creature at all, so a lot of his social skills are lacking. He is not smart at any sort of tactic besides running away, and he never wants to face his problems head on. Sometimes, he has the tendency to be a coward depending on the situation.

Talents: First and foremost, Kevin's biggest talent is that he's an artist. He draws and paints, but his favourite form of art is industrial art. He can make prize winning metal sculptures, and thoroughly enjoys it due to metal being one of the few things he can touch. His art is really the only thing he shows any like to doing, but he still gets decent grades despite himself. He does have a few fighting skills, but they are decent at best. He is able to take care of himself if the situation requires, and he has very good survival skills.
